Project #432- Rice Dumpling Coin Purse

Let me tell you a little secret of mine. Rice Dumpling is one of my favourite food!

Rice Dumpling is a traditional Chinese food made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves. They are cooked by steaming or boiling.

They are traditional eaten during the Dragon Boat Festival which falls on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar (approximately late-May to mid-June), commemorating the death of Qu Yuan.

Let me tell you a little secret of mine. Rice Dumpling is one of my favourite food! When I happened to chance upon a tutorial on making one ( but non-edible), I was so excited and can’t wait to sew one for myself.
